1. General Introduction
 
1.1 GPH48300A System Configuration
 
GPH48300A consists of integrated cabinet, power distribution, rectifier module (from 1 set, up to 7 sets) and 1 monitoring module. The configuration is optional, as following table:

1.2 GPH48300A Operating Principle
 
AC power is first input AC-INPUT MCB and then feed into the rectifier module after lightning proof and filtering. AC-INPUT acts as protection to over load and short circuit to AC power. LVLD and LVBD are connected with 2 load power down contactors KM1, KM2. The user’s battery is connected to the DC output side through MCB BAT and KM2, and the circuit breaker provides disconnection control, over-load and short-circuit protection to the battery.
 
Under normal conditions, every parameter of rectifier modules and power distribution unit are all under control of the monitoring module, operating according to the pre-set parameter or user’s commands. If AC mains faults, the battery will power to the system. With the battery discharge, the terminal voltage of the battery starts to descend. When battery voltage is under -47V±0.5V, the monitoring module sends DC under voltage alarm signal and when battery voltage is under -46.0V±0.5V (adjustable), the KM1cuts off non-priority loads and retaining power to priority loads. If battery voltage drops to -43.0V±0.5V (adjustable), the KM2 will cut off output of priority loads and then the power system will stop working. If the external AC mains recovers, the system will normally work again. (All above monitoring data are system default values and can be reset by user).
 
Except for battery over-discharge protection, battery or load over-temperature protection is prohibitive under default, users can send command to activate or inactivate according to the demanding.

The unit can operate normally when the diameter of dust particle is more than 5µm, with density ≤3*104 /m3. The dust shall not be conducting, electromagnetic or corrosive.

Notes:
 
(1) 55~65°C, module power derates, derating method is auto derating; 65°C, 176~280Vac, long term regulate output at least 80% rated power.
 
(2) 55°C, can output max. output power of module, without over temperature protection, and components can operate normally.
 
(3) Bacause of liquid crystal’s feature, when exceeding liquid crystal operating temperature range, the screen may be over bright or turn dark with no display.
 
(4) When lots of dust enter module, short circuit may happen to circuit inside the module. Under damp weather, after dust absorb water, insulation inside power decreases, which may lead to creepage or short circuit inside module. Therefore, in places with lots of dust, please take dust proof measure and clear dust-proof mesh and dust inside module. If dust is too much, the fan may be blocked. The module is cooled by fans, not enough air volume may cause hot inside module can’t be dissipated, then the module will enter over temperature protection in advance.

2. Installation Instruction

2.1 Installation Dimension

2.2 System Power Installation
 
GPH48300A is outdoor power. For installation, please fix it strictly according to the dimension: 545mm×460mm. Use M10 or M12 screws, complete the installation after tightening the screw.
Note: The cabinet fixing screws should be provided by the user.
 
 
3. Electrical Connection
 
3.1 Electrical Connection Instruction
 
Chassis connects with external electric through system interface board. As shown in figure below:

3.2 Process of Electric Connections
 
Electric connection between main cabinet and external equipment includes: connection of AC input line, connection of DC output and battery, connection of communication cables, connection of GND cables. The main requirements of electrical connection are safety and reliability. The following are detailed description.
(1) Connection of GND cables
Step 1: connect the ground wire to the grounding screw of the embedded telecom power system. As shown below:

(2) AC input cable connections
Step 2: connect AC input power cable to AC input MCB (as shown below). When connecting the cables, please note positions of phase line and neutral line ( see the labels).

(3)Connection of DC priority load cables
Step 3: load negative cable connection. The loads are divided into priority loads and non-priority loads. Connect priority loads cables to LVBD MCBs (as shown below). Select MCB capacity according to load current.( The load current must be lower than MCB capacity).

(4)Connection of DC non-priority load cables
Step 4: load negative cable connection. The loads are divided into priority loads and non-priority loads. Connect non-priority loads cables to LVLD MCBs (as shown below). Select MCB capacity according to load current.( The load current must be lower than MCB capacity).

(5)Connection of load cables and battery cables
Step 5: connect load cables and battery cables anode (+) to the anode copper bar (as shown below).

(6)Connection of battery cathode cables
Step 6: connect battery cathode cable to battery MCB (as shown below).

(7) Connection of DC load cables
a. The specifications and model of the load cables shall be according to the engineering design requirements.
b. Connect one end of positive connection cable to the positive copper bar;
c. Connect one end of negative connection cable to the “LVLD, LVBD” at the front of system;
(8) Connection of DC battery cables
Connection terminal of system and battery is MCB, indicated as BAT1-, BAT2-, used for connecting with battery. The detailed process of battery connection is as following: 
a. Prepare positive connection cables and negative connection cables (including terminals and polarity identifications ready).
b. Fasten up the battery connection cable
c. Connect one end of positive connection cable to “BAT1+” or “LOAD+” at the front of system;
d. Connect one end of negative connection cable to the MCB “BAT1-” or “BAT2-” at the front of system;

(10)Connection of communication cables
 
Ethernet communication mode: 
a. Connect one end of communication cable to LAN at front panel of GPH48300A.
b. Connect the other end of communication cable to Ethernet port of host (directly connect to the PC with cross wires). 
c. Or connect the system to switch through common direct network cable. The host communicate with the system through direct network cable and router. 
d. Communication cable making
 
Direction Definition: Put the side with plastic shell of registered jack down,and the side with PIN up; put the end with PIN away from you, and the end with square hole near you (the end for pushing the network cable in when making network cable). Then define the far left one as PIN1, and the far right one as PIN8.
 
For RS232 communication, PIN1 is 232TX(send), PIN4 is 232RX(receive), PIN5 is communication grounding.
 
For RS485 communication, PIN2 is RS485+, PIN3 is RS485-, other PINs are suspended.
 
Ethernet communication cable adopts T568A standard and T568B stadard.
T568A standard cable connection method is from left to right: green and white--green--orange and white- -blue--blue and white--orange--brown and white--brown.
T568B standard cable connection method is from left to right: orange and white--orange--green and white- -blue--blue and white--green--brown and white--brown.
 
When two ends of the Ethernet cable both adopt T568A standard or T568B standard, it is Ethernet direct cable; When one end adopts T568A standard while the other end adopts T568B, it is Ethernet cross cable.   
 
4. Instruction of GPM48P Monitoring Module

4.3 Monitoring Module Installation

Handles on panel of monitoring module are equipped. When inserting module into the main cabinet, the operator shall clutch the handle with one hand while holding it with the other hand. Slowly push the module into its slot until the connection terminal on back of the module inserted into corresponding socket of system bar in the main cabinet.

Finally, finish the installation by firmly fixing the screw on the panel to the main cabinet. When removing module from the main cabinet, first screw off the bolt on panel then slowly remove the module from its slot while clutching the handle.

5.2 Installation of Rectifier Module

6. System Maintenance
 
(1) Failure: yellow LED on rectifier module flickers continuously, communication fails;
Maintenance solution: check the communication network to see whether the internet connection is loose or internet interface is damaged or not. 
(2) Failure: yellow LED on rectifier lights on;
Maintenance solution: check whether the fan is blocked, load current exceeds the max. value; AC voltage is too lower, then the auto rate decrease starts; over temperature pre-alarm starts; remote shut-down is started on PC software.
(3) Failure: Red LED on rectifier lights on;
Maintenance solution: check whether the voltage is too high/too low and over/under voltage protection is on; fan is blocked; ambient temperature is too high; load is short circuit or not.
If above mentioned parts are ok but the red LED is still on, then there is problem on the module, please return it to factory for repairing.
(4) Failure: Yellow, red, green LEDs on rectifier are all off;
Maintenance solution: Firstly check whether AC input is available or not, if not, then check the electrical circuit; if yes, the module is in malfunction, please return the module to factory for repairing.
